SEO Search Evolved Optimization

It isn't just links or content anymore, it's everything!

Search Engine Optimization... why is it recession proof?

The desire to be number one on the big search engines is a common one in most businesses across the country and even more so, online. When Bill Gates said there were two types of business in the future, those online and those going out of business, I am sure he never would have guessed his company signing a contract with Apple to team up on the mobile search market.

When companies of this size start competing and heating up against each other, there is no doubt that it is a buyers market. When in a buyers market, they always have the final decision and it isn't as easy for your used car salesman tactics to work. In today's market, buyers of all products and services do research more than half the time on what they are preparing to purchase. Being the one they find and being able to provide the information AND value that they are looking for is the key to making new business.

The rat race to the top of the search engines is not showing any signs of slowing down and with the penetration of computers reaching more and more countries, the planet as we know it is on its way to being connected completely. In order to compete in this industry, companies are going to need a lot of visibility and in the end, being number 1 when your potential buyer is researching your product or service is the most effective way at drumming up new business.

Being the guy that can help you with this is what I LOVE most about the whole new era of the internet as we know it.

This post was inspired by the At&t Yellow Pages that everyone in my house has ignored on the front porch for over a week now. There is no doubt in my mind that people have officially switched to clicking through pages vs. flipping through pages to get a number, order dinner, learn a language, sign up for school, start a hobby, learn a skill, research anything.

Thanks for reading,
- Rob
